Admission to grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year: Standard scores announced before July 5

On June 4, candidates participating in the 2025-2026 public high school entrance exam in Khanh Hoa province completed the final exam subject of English and specialized subjects for candidates registering to take the exam at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Nha Trang City). The Department of Education and Training said that the exam scores will be announced on June 17 and the benchmark scores will be announced before July 5.

English test is easy, specialized subject is difficult

After finishing the English exam on the morning of June 4, many candidates assessed the exam as relatively easy. The exam consisted of two exam codes, each with 40 questions, including 32 multiple choice questions and 8 essay questions. Vo Le Hai Buu - a student at Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School (Nha Trang City) commented: "I found the English exam quite easy, mainly at the basic level, without difficult vocabulary." Nguyen Hoang Khang - a student at Thai Nguyen Secondary School (Nha Trang) said: "The exam was not difficult for me. This year, the exam had some new questions such as those related to traffic signs, or the requirement to arrange sentences into complete paragraphs. I think I got more than 8 points."

For specialized subjects, the exam is assessed to have a clearly improved level, requiring candidates to have solid knowledge and good thinking. Chu Nguyen Nhat Lam - a student at Nguyen Hien Secondary School (Nha Trang) taking the specialized Literature exam said: "The exam has 2 questions, in which question 1 requires writing an argumentative essay from a poem excerpt, question 2 requires clarifying a statement. I find the exam open-ended and quite difficult, especially question 1". Dao Nguyen Binh - a student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Cam Ranh City) taking the specialized Math exam said that the exam only has about 30 - 40% of easy questions to get points, the rest are difficult questions, requiring a high level of application. Meanwhile, Tran Pham Sy Hung - a student at Luong Dinh Cua Secondary School (Nha Trang) taking the specialized Chemistry exam said: "The exam is more difficult than last year's specialized exam. I calculate that I only got about 6 or 7 points".

Exam results will be announced on June 17.

Mr. Vo Hoan Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training assessed that the 10th grade entrance exam in the province was organized seriously, safely and in accordance with regulations at 28 examination councils. The Department of Education and Training will coordinate with relevant units to carry out the following tasks to ensure the set progress. Specifically, immediately after the end of the last exam, the examination councils transported the exam papers to the marking location, handed them over to the examination council; at the same time, coordinated with the Department of Internal Political Security, the Provincial Police to monitor and protect the exam papers. The Department of Education and Training mobilized more than 400 cadres, teachers, employees, and security forces to participate in the examination council. Examiners for general subjects include middle school and high school teachers, ensuring that each exam subject is graded by one middle school teacher and one high school teacher.

According to the plan, the 10th grade exam marking council will work from June 5 to 16, using the one-round marking method, the marking department will be completely isolated until the marking is completed. After completing the marking, the Departmentof Education and Training will announce the exam scores on June 17. Candidates who want to review the exam must submit a review application according to the form. After completing the review, the Department of Education and Training will announce the standard scores before July 5.

According to the Department of Education and Training, for the English subject, the whole province had 10,921 candidates taking the exam out of a total of 11,005 registered candidates (84 candidates were absent).

For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, there were 540 candidates taking the exam out of a total of 542 registered candidates (1 candidate for the English major was absent, 1 candidate for the Biology major was absent). Of which, there were 87 candidates for Math, 48 candidates for Physics, 55 candidates for Chemistry, 40 candidates for Biology, 88 candidates for Literature, 180 candidates for English, and 42 candidates for Information Technology. The school's target is 280 students for 8 specialized classes (35 students per class), of which 2 English classes.

The final exam had no cases of candidates or invigilators violating the regulations.
