The Vietnam Golf Association has just announced the plan to select members of the national team to participate in golf at the 33rd SEA Games taking place from December 9-20 in Thailand.
Accordingly, VGA will use the competition results at two national amateur tournaments, Vietnam Amateur Open (VAO) and Vietnam Ladies Amateur Open (VLAO) 2025, as one of the bases for selecting the national team to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
Specifically, the men's team includes the 2 athletes with the highest achievements in VAO 2025 and 2 athletes selected based on the world amateur rankings and performance in major tournaments.
Similarly, the women's team includes the two athletes with the highest achievements at VLAO 2025 and one athlete selected based on the world amateur rankings and performance at major tournaments.
VAO and VLAO 2025 will be held simultaneously from June 12 to 14 at Dalat Palace Golf Club (Doi Cu Golf Course), one of the ancient and iconic golf courses of Da Lat city. Nguyen Anh Minh and Doan Xuan Khue Minh are the current champions of the tournament.
At the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia, the Vietnamese golf team had the most successful tournament in history when they won 3 medals of various types: Individual Gold Medal by Le Khanh Hung, Individual Bronze Medal by Nguyen Anh Minh and Silver Medal in the men's team event.
These impressive achievements are not only a proud milestone but also a big boost, affirming the position and strong potential of Vietnamese golf in the Southeast Asian region.
