According to Ball Thai Stand, two Port FC players, Peeradon Chamratsamee (Thailand) and Asnawi Mangkualam (Indonesia), have withdrawn from the ASEAN All-Stars list. This is the team selected by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) under the leadership of coach Kim Sang-sik, based on proposals from 12 member federations.
Among them, Peeradon withdrew because his wife had just given birth, and he needed to be by his side to take care of his small family. The remaining Indonesian player withdrew because he was called up to the national team to prepare for important matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia, taking place in early June.
Peeradon (left) and Asnawi have withdrawn from the friendly match against Man United.
Thus, the list of ASEAN All-Stars by coach Kim Sang-sik continued to be shortened from 18 announced players to 16. Of which, the Vietnamese team contributed 4 faces.
Recently, midfielder Hoang Duc went to Malaysia to prepare for the gathering of this Southeast Asian team.
The friendly match between the ASEAN All-Stars and Man United is part of the Maybank Challenge Cup, which aims to raise funds for the YASA charity – an organization that supports youth and vulnerable communities in Malaysia.
This is a rare occasion when a squad of the best players in Southeast Asia is formed to face a world- class club like Man Utd. Although Australia has joined the AFF, they did not send players to participate in this match.
The match will take place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur - one of the largest stadiums in Asia with a capacity of up to 85,000 seats. Tickets for the match are issued at 7 price levels, from 50 Ringgit - CAT7 (about 290,000 VND) to 1,500 Ringgit - VIP (about 8.8 million VND), suitable for many types of fans.
At present, there are still quite a few tickets left for the match and only the two lowest categories, CAT 6 and CAT 7, are sold out.
