Mr. Kim Sang Sik's plan

On November 10, right after round 11 of V-League ends, the Vietnam national team and U22 Vietnam will gather together, marking the final training period in 2025.

According to plan, the Vietnamese team will be stationed in Viet Tri, where coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will have about a week to train before traveling to Laos to play in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and his colleagues have outlined plans for the teams.

Meanwhile, U22 Vietnam also has its own and equally important mission of going to China to participate in an international friendly tournament with 3 opponents: the host team, U22 Uzbekistan and U22 Korea.

This is a valuable opportunity for coach Kim Sang Sik to test the next generation, and at the same time evaluate the progress of the players who will participate in the 2023 SEA Games as well as the AFC U23 Championship early next year.

Currently, the framework for the two teams has been built by Mr. Kim Sang Sik and his team and the official list is expected to be announced after round 10 of V-League.

Coach Kim Sang Sik is afraid of 'storms'

Unlike previous gatherings, the upcoming gathering of both teams will be filled with important tasks and goals. Therefore, even a small change in personnel can greatly affect the entire preparation plan and final results.

This is the reason why coach Kim Sang Sik is afraid of... an injury storm. Because, before the two teams meet, the V-League has three more rounds (and the matches will be quite intense) before it is temporarily suspended to make way for the teams of the Korean coach.

What the Korean strategist hopes most is not to have to face unexpected injuries.

Currently, V-League teams are entering a fierce stage to compete and improve their rankings before the tournament is suspended until early 2026, so the matches take place with strong competition and extreme tension, causing the risk of injury to always lurk.

Coach Kim Sang Sik's concern is completely justified, because recently the Korean coach witnessed very serious injuries to midfielder Vo Hoang Minh Khoa or goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung.

A key player of the Vietnam national team or U22 team suffering a serious injury right before the team gathering could upset all calculations and force the Korean coach to look for a replacement in a relatively limited amount of time.

Therefore, in the coming weeks, in addition to monitoring the performance, Mr. Kim Sang Sik must also pray for the safety of his students, especially finding more backup plans in case of unexpected events.
