On April 18, the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health informed about the analysis results of the National Institute of Forensic Medicine on the product Detox Apple to support weight loss containing banned substances.
Accordingly, through data search, the Food Safety Department has not yet issued a Certificate of Product Declaration Registration for the product Detox Apple. Therefore, the Food Safety Department recommends that consumers do not buy and use the above-mentioned Detox Apple weight loss support product. If the product is found circulating on the market, please immediately notify the authorities for handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
Do not use Apple Detox product because it contains banned substances that are dangerous to health.
Recently, the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital received emergency treatment for a female patient (26 years old) who was poisoned by using the product Detox the body. According to the patient, because she wanted to lose weight, she bought a product called Detox Apple on social media to use. In 1 bottle of the product, there are 2 types of pills that look like medicine, yellow and green. This girl took the product for 10 days and had symptoms of ligament pain, sudden loss of vision in her eyes. According to Dr. Nguyen Trung Nguyen - Director of the Poison Control Center, this female patient had only used the weight loss product for about 10 days and had very clear signs of neurological, eye, and brain damage. If used for a long time, it could be life-threatening.
According to the Ministry of Health , Sibutramine is an active ingredient indicated in the treatment of obesity including weight loss and weight maintenance, but it is a substance that is dangerous to the cardiovascular system in high-risk people. Therefore, Sibutramine has been banned from circulation by the US Drug Administration since October 2010. In Vietnam, since June 2010, the Drug Administration of Vietnam has stopped granting import licenses for Sibutramine and then suspended circulation, revoked registration numbers and recalled drugs containing the active ingredient Sibutramine due to unwanted side effects. |
