On the morning of May 2 (Moscow time), the weather changed dramatically. After just one night, heavy snow fell everywhere, even though the outside temperature was 3 degrees Celsius, not lower than the previous days. Right on the usual training route, the snow was about 15cm thick, making it difficult to move around.
This is a special weather situation that the officers and students in the parade formation have never encountered in a training environment in Vietnam.
After discussing with the liaison officers of the other side, Major General Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of the Vietnam People's Army delegation - decided to take advantage of the covered porch in the delegation's accommodation area so that the soldiers could continue training while waiting for the weather to improve.
At the same time, the Organizing Committee mobilized staff and snow removal vehicles to clear the road in the morning to ensure that the military delegations of the countries could practice.
Thanks to that, by around 10am, the Vietnam People's Army delegation and the delegations from other countries were able to deploy their formations and continue outdoor training as usual.
Below are pictures of the Vietnam People's Army delegation practicing on May 2.
