On the morning of April 15, 2025, the Japanese Yen exchange rate in the domestic market recorded a record high increase. At commercial banks, the listed prices all increased compared to previous days.

Vietcombank is trading at 174.45 VND/JPY for buying and 185.54 VND/JPY for selling.

Japanese Yen exchange rate today April 15, 2025: Continue to rise

In the international market, the USD/JPY pair is showing clear signs of reversal after holding the support zone of 142.00 in recent sessions. After a slight decrease to around 142.24 in the Asian and European sessions, the exchange rate has increased sharply again and is currently above 144.00. This development is mainly due to the money flow returning to the USD in the context of a slight recovery in the US bond market.

Although there is usually a positive correlation between US bond yields and the USD/JPY exchange rate, the market is currently reflecting the uncertainty about US policy, showing that investor sentiment is still very cautious.

The Japanese Yen is expected to remain stable and recover in the medium term, as the Bank of Japan (BoJ) is likely to continue raising interest rates. Base salaries at many Japanese companies are rising, contributing to strengthening the value of the Yen.

In addition, the interest rate gap between the Fed and the BoJ is narrowing, making the interest rate differential investment strategy less attractive. If this trend continues, the Japanese yen will not only hold but may even appreciate.

Experts say that with a large economy, stable politics and highly liquid financial market, the Japanese Yen is still a safe haven chosen by many international investors.
