U16 gathers to prepare for the 2025 CFA Team China U16 International Tournament

Head coach of the Vietnam U16 team Cristiano Roland has decided to call up 30 players in the first training session of 2025, preparing to participate in the international U16 tournament CFA Team China 2025.

This tournament is meant to help the Vietnam U16 team review and evaluate their strength towards the main goal of the 2026 Asian U17 Qualifiers.

According to the list of players, the overwhelming majority are still football clubs/centers with good achievements in youth training such as PVF, The Cong Viettel, Hanoi, SLNA, Ba Ria Vung Tau... Some prominent faces include goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa - the best goalkeeper of the 2024 National U15 Championship, striker Nguyen Van Duong - the best player and also the top scorer of the 2024 National U15 Championship, midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc - one of the key factors in the Vietnam U17 team at the recent 2025 AFC U17 Finals.

Vietnam U16 will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from May 10. It is expected that on May 23, the team will leave for Hohhot City (Inner Mongolia, China) to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament, taking place from May 28 to June 1, 2025.

The 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament will feature Australia, Saudi Arabia and host China. This tournament is considered useful for the Vietnam U16 team in preparation for the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers.
