U17 Vietnam is confident and ready for the training trip in Japan.

On the afternoon of November 4, the Vietnam U17 team continued to maintain their training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. After the friendly match with Cambodia U17, coach Cristiano Roland only had his players do light exercises, focusing on recovery and muscle relaxation exercises to help the whole team recharge before their overseas training trip.

Before the training session, coach Cristiano Roland spoke to the media about preparations for the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers.

The Brazilian coach expressed his satisfaction with the spirit, attitude and progress of his players: “What pleases me most is that the players always feel comfortable and confident when wearing the national team shirt. Many of them were called up for the first time but all showed their desire, adapted quickly to the team environment and clearly understood their role in the overall playing style. That is the foundation for U17 Vietnam to enter the decisive stage with the highest confidence.”

Evaluating the last six practice matches, including the 5-0 victory over U17 Cambodia, coach Cristiano Roland said that this was a necessary process to test expertise and build cohesion in playing style.

He said: “We have arranged for the team to compete with many different opponents, from U18, U19, U21 domestic teams to teams of the same age. Through each match, the players have made clear progress. The upcoming three friendly matches in Japan will be an important finishing step before the team enters the tournament.”

According to the Brazilian coach, the U17 Vietnam team has basically formed the main frame, but every player has the opportunity to compete for a position: "I want everyone to always be ready. The training trip in Japan not only helps improve physical strength and tactical thinking but is also an opportunity for the coaching staff to choose the strongest squad."

Commenting on the group stage of the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers, Mr. Cristiano Roland emphasized that Vietnam U17 respects all opponents. The most important thing is that the players must fight with 100% spirit and ability. When they can do that, the whole team will control the match with their own ability.

According to the plan, on the evening of November 5, the Vietnam U17 team will leave for Japan for a 10-day training session, playing three friendly matches arranged by the Japan Football Federation. The team will return home on November 16 to complete the final preparations before entering the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers, taking place from November 22 to 30 in Hanoi and Hung Yen.
