Right from the start, U22 China proactively increased the speed and put strong pressure, forcing U22 Vietnam to concentrate on defense. Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh continuously made important saves, especially in the 16th minute when he blocked two consecutive shots in the penalty area from Yusupu and Bohao. The defense, under the command of Hieu Minh and Ly Duc, played with discipline, helping the away team stand firm against the opponent's relentless attacks.

In the second half, U22 Vietnam gradually regained control of the game. Although they did not create many clear opportunities, coach Dinh Hong Vinh's students still maintained their composure, taking advantage of counter-attacks. The turning point came in the 81st minute, when Le Van Thuan skillfully dribbled the ball and crossed it, causing the Chinese defender to fumble and clear the ball. Minh Phuc appeared at the right time, finishing close to the goal to score the only goal of the match. In the remaining minutes, the home team focused on finding an equalizer, but the Vietnamese defense played with concentration, effectively neutralizing high balls and continuous pressure. The match ended with an exciting 1-0 victory for U22 Vietnam.

This result is significant not only in terms of points but also in spirit. The young Vietnamese team showed their ability to control the game, their fighting spirit and their ability to cover and support each other. With less than a month to go before the 33rd SEA Games, the victory over an opponent with superior physique and physical strength like U22 China is an important stepping stone for the coaching staff to evaluate and perfect the squad. This is also an affirmation that U22 Vietnam is on the right track in preparing for the regional arena.
