U23 Vietnam conceded 4 goals against U23 UAE
Despite their best efforts, U23 Vietnam could only prevent U23 UAE from scoring in the first half. In the second half, the young strikers of the West Asian team played explosively to score four goals, bringing home a sweet 4-0 victory. Thus, U23 Vietnam ended the "group stage" at the Doha Cup with a record of all losses, no goals scored, and 7 goals conceded after two matches.

After the defeat against U23 Iraq, Coach Troussier made some changes to the starting lineup in the match against U23 UAE, notably in front of the goal, goalkeeper Huy Hoang replaced Van Chuan. U23 Vietnam started well, although they controlled the ball less, Coach Troussier's students still had counterattacks that made the opponent wary.
In the 18th minute, the U23 Vietnam players claimed that the ball had touched the opponent's hand in the penalty area, but the referee did not award a penalty to the U23 Vietnam team. The U23 UAE players could only dominate the game in the last 15 minutes, but despite the team's active strikers, they could not penetrate Huy Hoang's net.

After the break, U23 UAE started to accelerate. Six minutes into the second half, U23 UAE took the lead with Yasser Hassan opening the scoring. The U23 UAE player headed the ball into the goal after diving down to receive a cross from the right, the U23 Vietnam defense did not follow him closely, allowing the opponent to move freely and score.
With the goal, the U23 UAE players played comfortably. In the 65th minute, Ahmed Mahmoud fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, the ball went into the top right corner of the goal, leaving Huy Hoang with no chance to block it, U23 UAE took the lead 2-0.

The two-goal gap helped U23 UAE touch the victory but this team did not stop there. In the 83rd minute, from a corner kick, Mohammed Yousuf rushed in and headed the ball into the top right corner of the goal. Once again, the U23 Vietnam defense was negligent in marking the opponent.
In the sixth minute of extra time, goalkeeper Huy Hoang blocked the shot of player number 21 of the U23 UAE side, the ball bounced off the crossbar, just in time for Abdullah Abdulaziz to tap the ball in from close range to score the winning goal 4-0 for U23 UAE.
