After the defeat against U23 Iraq, Coach Troussier made some changes to the starting lineup in the match against U23 UAE, notably in front of the goal, goalkeeper Huy Hoang replaced Van Chuan. U23 Vietnam started well, although they controlled the ball less, Coach Troussier's students still had counterattacks that made the opponent wary.

In the 18th minute, the U23 Vietnam players claimed that the ball had touched the opponent's hand in the penalty area, but the referee did not award a penalty to the U23 Vietnam team. The U23 UAE players could only dominate the game in the last 15 minutes, but despite the team's active strikers, they could not penetrate Huy Hoang's net.
