On the morning of October 28 (local time), the UAE Vice President chaired the official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, on an official visit to the UAE.
UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Minister of State for Talent Acquisition Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zayoudi welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife to Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi.
On the morning of October 28 (local time), at the Royal Palace in the capital Abu Dhabi, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan presided over the official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, on an official visit to the UAE.
As the motorcade carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived at the Royal Palace square, 21 cannon shots rang out in celebration.
Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the parking lot and then walked into the main hall of the official welcoming ceremony.
As Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived at his place of honor in the main hall of the Royal Palace, the Vietnamese National Anthem was solemnly played.
After Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan took a photo together; officials from both sides came to greet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the UAE Vice President.
This is the first official visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister to the UAE in 15 years; taking place in the context of the relationship between Vietnam and the UAE developing well in many fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, labor and tourism.
Political trust and mutual understanding between the two countries have been constantly strengthened; delegation exchanges have taken place actively at many levels; economic cooperation has always been an important pillar and a bright spot in the overall picture of Vietnam-UAE cooperation.
The UAE is currently Vietnam's largest export market in the Middle East-Africa region, with bilateral trade turnover in the first 9 months of 2024 reaching 4.96 billion USD, exceeding the turnover of the whole year of 2023.
The UAE is one of the major investors in Vietnam, with a total of 42 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, ranking 52nd out of 148 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to the UAE aims to strengthen political trust, elevate relations, and create breakthroughs in the relationship between the two countries in the coming time in many fields, from economics, trade, investment, to new areas of cooperation such as innovation, science, technology, energy, Halal, etc.
In particular, during the visit, the two sides will upgrade relations and sign the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA); strive to soon achieve the target of 10 billion USD in trade turnover in the near future and even higher in the following years; opening a new period of cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE, as well as with countries in the Middle East./.
