Quang Tri People's Committee approved SCI Huong Viet wind power project under bidding form.

In addition, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also decided to approve the invitation for interest in this project.

SCI Huong Viet Wind Power Plant Project is located in Huong Phung Commune, Huong Hoa District. The project's objective is to build a wind power plant to supply and supplement electricity sources, meeting the energy demand to achieve the economic and social development goals in the province.

In terms of scale, SCI Huong Viet Wind Power Plant has a generating capacity of 26 MW, with an estimated land area of ​​about 9.09 hectares, equivalent to about 0.35 hectares/MW. The land area temporarily used during the construction of the plant is expected to be about 7.2 hectares or less than 0.3 hectares/MW.

The project has a total estimated investment capital of VND 1,018.51 billion, and a project operation period of 50 years from the date of issuance of the investor approval decision.

Regarding progress, the project is expected to be implemented in about 18 months. Of which, the main construction of the project will start in the fourth quarter of 2025; the project will be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to perform the function and task of inviting interest and prepare and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the invitation for interest documents to determine the number of investors interested in the project in accordance with regulations. Carry out the selection of investors to implement the project; monitor, urge, and inspect the actual project. Timely advise on removing difficulties and obstacles to ensure the progress of project implementation in accordance with regulations.

It is known that the Power Plan VIII allocates the cumulative wind power capacity in Quang Tri province to 2030 at 1,800 MW and the Power Plan VIII adjusts the capacity to increase by 560 MW. Up to now, in Quang Tri province, there are 20 wind power projects put into power generation and commercial operation with a total capacity of 742.2 MW; 1 project has completed construction and is completing related procedures to put into commercial operation; 10 projects with a total capacity of 394 MW have been approved by competent authorities for investment policy and are being implemented.
