In the face of the strong development of the 4.0 industrial revolution, in order to promptly meet the requirements of digital transformation in the field of vocationaleducation , in recent times, the school has actively applied IT, digital transformation in training and career orientation for students. In recent years, the school has invested in building a modern technical infrastructure step by step to serve vocational education. The school's network system has been invested synchronously since 2023 according to the model of a wide-area internal network and wifi coverage throughout the school, meeting the implementation of online training and distance learning methods; there are 6 labs, IT rooms for research and practice; there are 93 computers (desktops and laptops) with high configuration, connected to the internet to serve teaching, learning and exploiting information applying digital technology and projection equipment, simulation equipment, system software, specialized software... Notably, recently the school has begun to approach and research some content on artificial intelligence AI, virtual reality technology (VR-Virtual Reality) and simulation technology to gradually apply to the teaching process to create breakthroughs in training methods. In addition, the school digitizes textbooks, learning materials, and documents for a number of accredited professions to serve the learning process of students.
In addition, the school pays attention to and focuses on improving the capacity of IT application and digital transformation for staff and teachers. The work of fostering professional skills, pedagogical skills, innovating teaching methods and tools, and applying IT for teachers is effectively maintained through training programs and seminars on skills in compiling electronic lectures, teaching skills, management skills, monitoring and guiding learners online, and skills in proficiently using online training software and IT tools for teaching. Up to now, 100% of teachers have been able to create visual lectures on PowerPoint software and over 30% of teachers can create digital learning materials, electronic lectures, and exploit and use IT software and tools to innovate teaching methods.
Previously, in the automotive technology training program, the system of practical lessons required learners to observe and install on many different models and models to understand the operation of the machine, making it difficult for learners to absorb knowledge, causing waste of equipment and materials, limiting training space and time. To improve the quality of teaching, the school has applied digitalization and 3D simulation in practical lessons. With smart devices, lecturers can digitize lectures, simulate knowledge about automotive technology on computers with videos, images and graphics; helping students to easily understand, absorb and practice observation skills, practice simulation and be able to actively follow up lectures when necessary.
In addition, the school has also applied IT and digital transformation in testing and evaluation. Specifically, it has deployed online training via software such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom Meeting, Google Meet; organized exams and tests on computers with a 100% implementation rate of the courses. To effectively deploy IT applications in training, the school has also established a digital transformation team with 21 members.
Master Vu Huu Y, Principal of the school, shared: The school is well aware of the need to apply IT and digital transformation in the training process. Since applying IT to the teaching and practice process, it has contributed to improving the school's training quality, helping learners to be interested and creative. Through AI, teachers do not have to regularly explain basic issues to learners, thereby improving the organization of classes and controlling teaching and learning more effectively.
However, in the process of applying IT to vocational training at Ha Nam Vocational College, there are still many difficulties and challenges such as: The school does not have a studio to build and deploy electronic lectures; lack of specialized IT software to serve the training of at least 50% of subjects and modules according to the criteria of a high-quality college; smart equipment, virtual reality technology applications, virtual practice have not been invested in, especially in key occupations at the national, regional and international levels; teaching is still limited in the application and use of digital technology and digital learning materials; learners sometimes have not yet adapted to learning on IT application platforms...
Identifying that IT application and digital transformation play a key role in improving the quality of vocational education at the school, in the coming time, Ha Nam Vocational College will continue to overcome difficulties and limitations, promote investment in IT application in teaching, and build more practical training programs to contribute to improving the quality of human resources, meeting the needs of socio-economic development and international integration.
