On October 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, Lac Viet Informatics Joint Stock Company cooperated with Xua va Nay Magazine , The History and Geography Journal held a launching ceremony for the XuavaNay application - a digital platform applying artificial intelligence (AI) to digitize and disseminate valuable documents on Vietnamese history, geography and culture.
XuavaNay application was developed with the aim of storing, integrating and expanding valuable sources of documents, including the History and Geography Journal (1966–1975) and the Past and Present Magazine (1994–present).
Not just a digital library, XuavaNay is also positioned as an "intelligent knowledge assistant" that helps users access and interact directly with huge data sources.
The application integrates many outstanding features such as reading the full text of each newspaper page and each book to preserve academic value; chatting with AI by text or voice in many different languages.
Especially the function of connecting the journey of knowledge since 1966 (the time of publishing the History and Geography Journal ) to the present, helping users experience history, geography, and culture in a vivid and intuitive way.

The application currently supports Vietnamese - English bilingual interface, serving the needs of teaching, research and learning domestically and internationally.
Users can access the experience on the website xuavanay.ai, a 30-day free trial and extended service packages for individuals, schools, libraries, and research organizations are ready. Mobile versions for Android and iOS will be launched in the near future.
The birth of the XuavaNay application is expected to contribute to the preservation of national intellectual heritage and expand access to historical and cultural resources using modern methods. The application provides useful tools for teachers, students, journalists, and scholars in the process of teaching, researching, and creating.
With flexible interaction capabilities thanks to AI technology, users can easily search, analyze and explore historical content, landmarks and Vietnamese culture in a more vivid and friendly way, thereby connecting past memories with present life.

According to historian Duong Trung Quoc, Editor-in-Chief of Xua and Nay Magazine , the XuavaNay application was initially built on two main data sources, the History and Geography Journal and the Xua and Nay Magazine , but the future direction is to expand and integrate many other historical sources to form a diverse and rich repository of Vietnamese historical documents.
He believes that this application does not have the ambition to solve all historical and geographical problems, but focuses on showing how the topics are reflected, researched and debated in the two typical academic publications mentioned above. This is a necessary first step, opening a new direction in the work of digitizing documents and disseminating historical and cultural knowledge to the public.
The magazine Xua va Nay , founded in 1994, is the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Historical Science Association and is considered one of the most prestigious magazines in the field of historical and cultural research, gathering many scholars at home and abroad.
Meanwhile, the Journal of History and Geography – a specialized publication published from 1966 to 1974, compiled by a group of professors and students of Saigon Pedagogical University, under the editorship of Mr. Nguyen Nha and the management of Ms. Pham Thi Hong Lien – left an important academic foundation, a valuable source of materials for researchers of Vietnamese history, geography and culture.
