The National Assembly Standing Committee conducts a question-and-answer session on diplomacy.

Continuing the 31st session, on the afternoon of March 18, the National Assembly Standing Committee conducted a question-and-answer session on diplomacy under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh. The question-and-answer session was connected online with 62 delegations of National Assembly deputies from provinces and centrally-run cities.

Attending the Cao Bang bridge were comrades: Tran Hong Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Be Minh Duc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; representatives of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, leaders of the People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and a number of relevant departments and branches.

At the question-and-answer session, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son answered questions from delegates focusing on the following groups of issues: Protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad; violations of the law by Vietnamese citizens abroad and foreigners in Vietnam; protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese fishermen; the current situation of implementing bilateral and multilateral agreements and solutions to promote the implementation of economic , trade and investment cooperation agreements; support for expanding export markets, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to avoid fraud; activities to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism to the world and visa exemption for citizens of other countries entering Vietnam to develop tourism; management, arrangement, consolidation, improvement of qualifications and organizational capacity of the diplomatic apparatus (including Vietnamese representative agencies abroad); solutions to strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity in diplomatic activities.

In addition, delegates were interested in the following issues: Supporting localities in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO, thereby raising the level of Vietnamese culture in the international arena; solutions to promote support for localities in the process of building and developing global geoparks, submitting them to UNESCO for recognition, as well as promoting them after they are recognized by UNESCO, thereby contributing to attracting more international tourists to Vietnam; roadmap and solutions to promote cooperation agreements, upgrading border gates, and socio-economic development; measures to bring overseas trainees back to the country.

At the end of the question-and-answer session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh said: There were 32 delegates questioning, 1 delegate directly debating; summarizing the content of the question-and-answer session. He emphasized that in the financial sector in the coming time, it is necessary to implement many solutions synchronously and simultaneously: Continue to perfect the legal system and organize synchronous implementation in all fields. Perfect measures to organize State management, clearly define the responsibilities of the Government, of each ministry, branch, and locality, and at the same time, promote the principle of coordination in organization and implementation. Promote the role of financial service industry associations, promote the professional ethics of service practitioners, organizations and individuals as well as the responsibility of members in strictly complying with the laws of the State.

Regarding the field of diplomacy, it is recommended that the Government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, ministers and heads of relevant sectors fully absorb the opinions of delegates, and resolutely direct the implementation of proposed solutions to overcome limitations, focusing on a number of issues regarding: Implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements and commitments, support for localities and businesses; international integration and linkage; cultural diplomacy, tourism development, visa exemption policy; work with overseas Vietnamese and citizen protection; and organization of the diplomatic apparatus.
