- In recent years, the People's Committee of Van Linh commune, Chi Lang district has focused on orienting and supporting farmers to develop diverse production models, thereby contributing to increasing people's income and promoting socio -economic development in the area.

Realizing that the yellow chicken breed in the commune has good resistance, is highly adaptable to local conditions and is favored by consumers, the People's Committee of the commune has focused on promoting the expansion of chicken farming to the people. Currently, the whole commune has nearly 100 households raising chickens and 1 Van Linh Chicken Cooperative (consisting of 8 members, established in 2017) with a total flock of more than 50,000 chickens.
Mr. Luong Van Tre, Na Teng village, Van Linh commune said: My family has been raising yellow chickens since 2017. At first, I only dared to raise 100 chickens, but because I did not know how to take care of them, the quality of the chickens was not high. From 2019 to now, I have regularly participated in training courses on chicken raising organized by the Commune People's Committee and applied them in practice. Since then, on average, I have raised 3 batches each year, each batch from 300 to 500 chickens, bringing in an income of more than 200 million VND/year after deducting expenses.
“In recent times, Van Linh is one of the communes that has promoted its advantages to develop production with diverse models. Accordingly, the commune has focused on developing the district’s key products: dried fruit, golden chicken, custard apple, etc. Thereby, helping people increase their income, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.” Mr. Luong Thanh Chung, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Chi Lang district |
In addition, realizing that the production of dried glue is a traditional occupation of the commune, many households have expanded their production in recent times. Along with the above two models, the people of the whole commune have currently developed more than 200 production models such as: fruit tree growing model (over 112 hectares); buffalo, cow and pig raising model (total herd of nearly 4,000 heads); red peanut growing model (over 150 hectares)... bringing in income from 100 to 600 million VND/household/year.
Ms. Trieu Thi Son, Vice Chairman of Van Linh Commune People's Committee said: Recently, based on the actual conditions in the locality, the Commune People's Committee has increased propaganda for people to convert ineffective crop areas to high-value crops. At the same time, reviewing people's needs to guide and support the implementation of production models suitable to reality... Thereby, contributing to promoting production development and increasing income for people.
Accordingly, the Party Committee and the communal government have integrated and effectively used capital sources to support people in developing production. Specifically, from the capital source under the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction, from 2023 to present, the People's Committee of the commune has supported people in implementing the model of planting and caring for macadamia trees and fruit trees with a total cost of nearly 500 million VND. Currently, the total outstanding debt of the whole commune through the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has reached over 23.9 billion VND with 485 households borrowing capital.
In addition to capital support, the Commune People's Committee focuses on improving knowledge about animal husbandry and crop cultivation for people. From 2020 to now, on average each year, the Commune People's Committee coordinates with the district's professional department to organize from 6 to 8 training courses on transferring science and technology in crop cultivation and animal husbandry to people; coordinates to organize from 1 to 3 short-term vocational training classes/year on fruit tree planting and animal husbandry techniques for over 100 participants.
Notably, the Commune People's Committee also propagated and mobilized people to establish cooperatives.
