The situation happened in the 45+1 minute. During a dispute with a Binh Duong player, Van Toan jumped high and landed poorly, causing pain and he was immediately taken off the field to receive medical care.

The striker from Thai Binh could not continue playing, forcing coach Vu Hong Viet to send Tran Van Kien in as a substitute in the second half.

This season's V.League has seen Nguyen Van Toan's poor form, as he had two breaks due to different injuries. After the first three matches, Van Toan missed four consecutive matches due to an ankle injury. When he returned, he played two more matches before missing the next six matches due to a knee injury at the ASEAN Cup 2024.
