Gold rings set a new record, surpassing 72 million VND per tael (approximately 37.5 grams).

The price of gold rings has surpassed 72 million VND per tael for the first time.

During last night's trading session, world gold prices rose 0.5%, reaching $2,292.3 per ounce as the gold market anticipated a US interest rate cut in June 2024, leading to strong buying of the precious metal. By over 9 am this morning, gold prices had reached a new record high of $2,301.2 per ounce, equivalent to approximately 12.2 million VND per tael lower than the price of SJC gold bars.

In the domestic market, at just after 9 am, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed the price of SJC gold bars at 79.7 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 81.7 million VND/ounce (selling price), an increase of 600,000 VND/ounce compared to the end of the previous day.

Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company increased the price of gold by 600,000 VND/ounce (buying price) and 700,000 VND/ounce (selling price), to 79.5 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 81.6 million VND/ounce (selling price).

Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. is quoting gold at 79.7 million VND/ounce (buying price) - 81.6 million VND/ounce (selling price), higher than the end of the previous day by 700,000 VND/ounce (buying price) and 650,000 VND/ounce (selling price). The current price is the highest since March 21st.

The price of gold rings increased by 400,000-690,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling directions, reaching an all-time high of 72.32 million VND/ounce, trading at 70.75-71.12 million VND/ounce (buying) and 71.9-72.32 million VND/ounce (selling).

In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate of VND against USD, applicable for April 4th, is 1 USD = 24,038 VND, an increase of 18 VND per USD compared to the previous day.

At commercial banks, Vietcombank listed the USD exchange rate at 24,770 VND (buying) - 25,140 VND (selling), an increase of 10 VND per USD compared to the end of yesterday.

BIDV also increased the exchange rate by 10 VND per USD compared to the previous day, to 24,825 VND (buying) - 25,135 VND (selling).
