"Therefore, anyone who registers early and has a place to participate in this tournament feels lucky, because this is a very professionally and methodically organized tournament. More importantly, the participating athletes are very happy to know that the amount of their contribution fee will be used by the Organizing Committee for the humanitarian purpose of supporting the construction of 5 charity houses in Cao Bang," athlete Phuong Anh, born in 2002, shared with Dan Tri reporter about the tournament.

Phuong Anh used to be an athlete in the Hanoi youth table tennis team, the same age as tennis player Vu Manh Huy (son of grandmaster Vu Manh Cuong). However, she did not pursue the goal of becoming a professional athlete but stopped to switch to studying culture.

"I stopped playing table tennis when I was preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam, around the age of 14, right when I was at my peak, but I had to stop. At that time, I was really into table tennis, and even dreamed of winning medals... But my mother wanted me to follow the path of studying for stability.

I was sad, regretful, and even blamed my mother a little. But thinking back, I realized that she was right. Thanks to her, I had time to explore many other things, from studying to sports, and even pickleball, where I found the feeling of competing and giving my all. So now I not only regret, but also truly thank my mother," Phuong Anh shared the reason for not following the path of a professional table tennis player.

According to the female athlete from Vinh Phuc, she started playing pickleball for more than 6 months and feels "addicted" to this new sport.

"Every day when I have free time, I go to the field to practice and compete. This is really an easy sport to play, easy to socialize with everyone, but to play well is not easy at all. Currently, I am at level 3.0 in pickleball," Phuong Anh expressed.

At the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new days", Phuong Anh participated in 2 events at the same time: women's doubles 5.0 and women's doubles Open.

"I think the Dan Tri pickleball tournament will be very fierce as it will gather many good athletes, so it will not be easy to win the title. I think every match is a big challenge for me, but I will compete with all my heart, trying to make the most of what I have practiced and learned during the past time. As for the result, I consider it a gift of effort and hope I have a little luck to succeed.

I want to learn more at the tournament, and I am also very happy to know that the tournament fee will be used by the Organizing Committee for charity. After this tournament, I hope to join Dan Tri newspaper in participating in charity activities in the highlands, because since I was a child, I lived with my grandparents in Dien Bien province, so I understand the difficulties of people in the mountainous provinces very well," athlete Phuong Anh concluded.
