This summer, where will you and your family travel and experience? As for me, without having to go too far, I can still visit the mountainous district of Duc Linh, my hometown of Binh Thuan with my family to have fun, experience interesting things with rice fields, areca rows, and enjoy wading in the fields, catching snails, and enjoying nutritious dishes prepared on the spot...
“Welcome to the Snail Farm” - that is the invitation written on the entrance gate of Duc Linh Snail Farm of Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhon, in Ward 8, Vo Xu Town. According to the farm owner, Snail Farm is located near the traffic route, quite convenient for advertising and traveling of customers. Especially the number of tourists from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City, or the number of pilgrims to the Ta Pao Holy Mother Center, tourists from Thac Ba ... about 40 km from the farm system.
Besides, Duc Linh is located along National Highway DT 766, which is the main traffic route of the Southeast provinces. If tourists go through this route to travel to Phan Thiet - Da Lat - Dinh Quan, when they turn back, they can see the signboard and image of Duc Linh Snail Farm.
For those who love to experience and explore, you can visit this farm, nestled in the middle of the vast, lush green rice fields of local farmers. The road leading to the farm is large enough for a 45-seat passenger van to pass. The entrance to the farm is straight, with rows of tall areca trees on both sides. Looking to the left is a gently sloping lotus pond in full bloom, showing off its bright pink color. On the right is a new summer-autumn rice variety produced by the farm owner, which is green in color. In particular, going deeper inside, there are many other types of trees for visitors to experience and enjoy, such as coconut, squash, lemon, etc. surrounding the large black snail farming area. You can explore the egg-laying process, spread food, or soak in the pond to harvest commercial snails.
According to the introduction of this snail farm owner, Duc Linh land has great strengths in agriculture and potential for experiential tourism services. Therefore, he has implemented the construction of an agricultural tourism model with an area of nearly 5 hectares in his hometown.
“This is the first time I have experienced such a comfortable and pleasant feeling at an experiential tourism destination right in Binh Thuan”, said Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Mai (Phan Thiet City) when she and her friends visited this place. Talking to us, Mr. Nhon also said that recently, tourists, especially in the summer, are often groups of guests from Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Phan Thiet City, or associations and organizations coming to visit and relax.
Accordingly, tourists can use the services of the Snail Farm such as entertainment, especially resting, staying overnight in a camping tent right next to the rice fields to immerse themselves in nature. Wake up in the morning with the dawn in the countryside, feel the dew still lingering on the leaves, wait for the sunlight to shine through the dew drops. Guests can sip coffee at the farm, indulge in the cool breeze with the scent of lotus, and blend in with the chirping of birds in a peaceful place. The owner of this farm also added that, in addition to resting, visitors can also enjoy dishes with high nutritional content, made from lingzhi mushrooms, cordyceps and certainly cannot miss the farm's specialty "black medicinal snail rolls", including many ways of preparation such as grilled with green pepper, snail rolls with bread, vermicelli soup, hot pot, salad, snails steamed with lemongrass.
Currently, due to the process of completing and building service prices, there are no specific figures. However, according to the farm owner, the dishes here range from 200,000 - 300,000 VND/dish... If guests choose a tour, the cost per person for 2 days and 1 night is from 1 - 1.5 million VND/person, including accommodation and breakfast buffet. Especially every weekend on Saturday night, there will be a "singing together" program...
Summer has just begun! Come with me to my hometown Duc Linh to experience this exciting agricultural tourism!
