"Youth patrol team" conducts administrative inspections of violations of traffic order and safety |
For peace
When the clock struck 10 p.m., the "Youth Patrol Team" of Hue City Police set out on duty. Passing through central areas with many bars, pubs, restaurants, apartment buildings, and dormitories in Thuan Hoa and Phu Xuan districts, the patrol force propagated and reminded dozens of people to raise awareness in managing personal assets and vehicles. At the same time, they administratively checked many cases of young people driving vehicles violating traffic order and safety with violations such as: not wearing helmets, violating alcohol concentration, not having a driver's license, etc.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Phuong (Phu Hoi Ward, Thuan Hoa District) said that in the past, there were often cases of young adults gathering at midnight to eat and drink on the sidewalk and together weaving and swinging in the middle of the road, affecting people's sleep. Since the police force increased patrols, this situation has decreased significantly.
Not only patrolling on the streets, the police force coordinated with the youth union and the security force of Hue Central Hospital to patrol and remind patients and their families to raise awareness in property management. At the same time, they coordinated to propagate to students in the dormitory to proactively preserve personal property; together with the Youth Union of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, they patrolled at night at Ngo Mon Square, the Upper Citadel area, etc.
“I spend all day taking care of my family in the hospital, so sometimes I fall asleep at night without realizing it. The presence of the police will make criminals wary; at the same time, it helps us rest assured without fear of having our property stolen,” said Nguyen Thai Hoang, a relative of a patient being treated at Hue Central Hospital.
The model of "Youth Patrol Team" was advised and implemented by the Youth Department of Hue City Police under the name of the Youth Project "80 days and nights for the peace of the city", aiming to implement solutions to prevent and combat crime, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.
Continue to develop
According to Major Le Viet Phuong, Head of the Youth Department of Hue City Police, in order to effectively implement the Youth Project "80 days and nights for the peace of the city" of Hue City Police, the Youth Department of the City Police advised and established a "Youth Patrol Team" to promptly detect and suppress street crimes; focusing on acts such as: Robbery, theft of property; disturbing public order; intentionally causing injury; gathering for illegal racing, violating traffic safety...
Lasting from the end of April to August 30, the "Youth Patrol Team" is expected to mobilize 80 youth union members from the Mobile Police, Criminal Police, Drug Police and Traffic Police forces to participate in patrolling routes and areas with potential security and order risks from 10pm the previous day to the following morning.
During the first days of operation, the “Youth Patrol Team” conducted administrative checks on more than 20 cases of young people suspected of violating the law and recorded many cases of traffic violations. During the implementation of the task, the patrol team also reminded people to raise awareness in protecting personal property and vehicles.
“With the spirit of respecting the law and “No forbidden zones, no exceptions” in handling violations, the “Youth Patrol Team” will continue to increase patrols and controls on the roads and closely coordinate with other patrol teams of Hue City Police to maintain order and discipline, strictly handle all violations of criminal, drug and traffic laws,” said Major Le Viet Phuong.
