The communication session on "Preventing and combating child abuse on the Internet" was held at Chau Van Liem Secondary School, O Mon District. The participants used information technology, collected images and documents, and created communication content on the issue of child abuse on the Internet. Improve communication effectiveness
In May 2025, the City Social Work Center coordinated with 20 schools in districts with the Youth Club model to organize specialized communication on preventing and combating child abuse and fraud in cyberspace. At this time, children are starting their summer vacation, so they have more time to access the online environment, are easily lured, enticed, and are at increased risk of abuse and fraud due to lack of supervision from schools and parents. Communication activities help connect the responsibilities of schools - parents - society to protect andeducate children in the digital age. The Social Work Center is the focal point for providing knowledge, skills, and connecting to support social security for children and their families.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Deputy Director of the City Social Work Center, said that the Center maximizes the role of the Youth Club management board at schools, always close to, clearly understanding the psychology and needs of students, so communication is more practical, effective and widespread. The club management board promotes the capacity to develop plans, organize and run communication activities. Thereby, increasing sustainability and initiative in communication activities, reducing dependence on external resources, raising awareness of self-defense in the school environment and the online environment. Communication sessions with diverse and creative forms, rich content, increasing interaction, attracting the interest and excitement of students. In addition, the Center focuses on promoting a number of topics related to TE such as: preventing and combating school violence and gender violence; preventing and avoiding accidents and injuries; life skills and prevention of deviant behaviors, legal advice... The application of information technology in organizing communication activities by schools, such as using real-life situation videos , illustrative cartoon clips... is in line with current trends. Thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda, increasing visuality and interaction for students.
“In the coming time, the City Social Work Center will strengthen digital transformation in propaganda and education, such as: building a “Digital Life Skills Library”, organizing skills classes combining direct and online skills, creating short videos, infographics posted on social networks managed by the Center. At the same time, bringing technology into career guidance experiences: applying vocational competency testing software, creating 360° videos simulating career spaces, students making “digital CVs”; training and coaching content on technology application in life skills education, designing digital media for students…” - Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van emphasized.
