NDO - The Ministry of Education and Training is seeking comments on a draft circular on rewards and discipline for students, which proposes to eliminate suspension from school. According to the draft, disciplinary measures for students will only include warnings, criticism, and writing self-criticism; for primary school students, no records of violations will be kept.

Manyeducation experts consider this proposal to demonstrate a humane spirit, aiming towards positive discipline.

However, there are also concerns that removing the form of suspension from school may reduce deterrence, causing difficulties in handling serious violations such as school violence, insulting teachers, carrying weapons... Schools will lack "silence" to intervene psychologically and adjust student behavior.

This can put pressure on homeroom teachers and destroy school culture.
