[Video] Product risk classification: Solution to reform quality management, reduce burden for businesses

NDO - On May 10, the National Assembly discussed the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations. One of the notable contents is the reform of the conformity declaration process and product classification according to risk level, in order to reduce the burden of costs and time for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises.

Many delegates agreed with the amendment of Article 48 on conformity declaration - which is creating great pressure on businesses due to testing costs and long processing times.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that it is necessary to continue maintaining the system of standards and regulations to protect public health and the environment, but it is also necessary to change management methods towards post-inspection, risk classification and reduction of administrative procedures.

The Government will continue to perfect the draft law towards eliminating unnecessary technical barriers, applying risk-based management and promoting digital transformation to effectively serve state management and business development.
