Vietnam-Azerbaijan to establish deep ethnic and religious ties

Vietnam is a long-standing friend of Azerbaijan, the relationship between the two countries has always been maintained and General Secretary To Lam's visit this time will continue that tradition.

Information from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions said that within the framework of the United Nations Vesak 2025, on May 6, at the Office of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung had a cordial reception with Mr. Ramin Manmadove - Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his joy that after more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two countries is increasingly good; especially on this occasion, General Secretary To Lam is on a state visit to Azerbaijan.

“For Vietnam, recently, Vietnam has officially established a new ministry to take care of ethnic and religious issues ( Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions ). We also want to promote and strengthen the State management function in this field,” Minister Dao Ngoc Dung informed.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also highly appreciated and congratulated Azerbaijan on its many innovations and substantial successes over the past period. In particular, the relationship between the two countries has become increasingly better, especially cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy and trade.

"The two countries always support each other in international forums," Mr. Dung said.

After listening to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung share about the changes in the State management agency in the field of ethnicity and religion, the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan said that he visited Vietnam at a very historical time for the Vietnamese people, the country and the Vietnamese people have organized many important historical events...

“Vietnam is a long-standing friend of Azerbaijan and the relationship between the two countries has always been maintained and the visit of General Secretary To Lam will continue that tradition, the relationship will certainly continue to develop,” the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan shared.

Mr. Ramin Manmadove also emphasized that Vietnam and Azerbaijan are two friendly countries, so he is ready to accept the invitation to visit Vietnam and attend the Vesak Festival 2025.

“My visit this time also aims to connect our relationships with each other, develop existing relationships and hope that the two ministries - both responsible for State management in the field of religion - will sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two sides and on that legal basis we will have forms of exchange and cooperation,” said Mr. Ramin Manmadove.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that Azerbaijan is a multi-religious country and religious activities are of great interest and development. Mr. Dung also believes that after the visit of General Secretary To Lam on this occasion, the relationship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan will certainly increase.

Regarding Vietnam, Mr. Dung said that the country suffered a lot of pain after the war, so it highly values ​​independence, freedom in life as well as religious freedom. Vietnam strongly supports and wishes to establish a deeper, stronger and more specific relationship with Azerbaijan on ethnic and religious issues.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also thanked the invitation from Mr. Ramin Manmadove - Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan, and accepted the invitation to visit Azerbaijan through diplomatic channels.

The head of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions also sent his best wishes to the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations in Azerbaijan for a happy and joyful visit and work in Vietnam./.
