At the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong informed about the progress of conservation and completion of typical heritage dossiers, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage; the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex; the Oc Eo-Ba The archaeological site (An Giang), Con Moong cave (Thanh Hoa) as well as the orientation for building a dossier to request UNESCO to recognize the Co Loa Citadel relic site as a world cultural heritage.
As a representative of the global heritage management agency, Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo expressed his respect and appreciation for Vietnam's efforts in preserving and promoting the value of heritages.
He said that although the dossier of Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage has not been approved this year, UNESCO will continue to closely coordinate with ICOMOS and at the end of July will send a team of consultants to support Vietnam in building the dossier in accordance with international requirements.
Regarding the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac heritage dossiers, the UNESCO representative said that they will soon receive the assessment report from ICOMOS. He emphasized that this is a very meaningful dossier not only for Vietnam but also for the region.

Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo also thanked the effective cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in building and completing the international dossier to nominate Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Hin Namno National Park (Kham Muon, Laos) to become world natural heritage.
At the same time, he also informed about the recent UNESCO monitoring mission to Ha Long Bay, which plans to work with local authorities this weekend to provide recommendations and advice on ensuring harmony between economic -tourism development and preserving the natural-cultural values of the heritage.
Appreciating Vietnam’s role in the global heritage program, Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo also noted that Vietnam needs to proactively develop a comprehensive management strategy for each heritage site and promptly complete the preliminary dossier. This is a mandatory requirement for world heritage nominations from 2027.
In addition, Director of the World Heritage Center Lazare Eloundou Assomo emphasized that Vietnam has the responsibility to share with other countries because Vietnam has rich experience and achievements in the conservation model and promotion of heritage values. Vietnam is a model for prioritizing conservation in the agenda, making efforts to apply the principle of sustainable development towards beneficiaries, which are communities.
