Vietnam-Cuba promote cooperation in higher education

On the afternoon of March 28 (local time), Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long had a working session with Cuban Deputy Minister of Higher Education Reynaldo Velasquez Zaldivar.

At the meeting, Ambassador Le Quang Long and Deputy Minister Reynaldo Velasquez Zaldivar focused on promoting cooperation in the field ofeducation , including science and technology cooperation with the implementation of joint research projects, creating conditions for the exchange of experts from both countries. Next is to strengthen the development of high-quality joint training programs to exchange lecturers and students from Vietnam and Cuba; promote Vietnamese language training and research on Vietnamese studies for Cuban students.

In addition, the two sides also committed to promoting the implementation of the 2024-2029 Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi National University and the University of Havana. At the same time, they will organize delegations to attend prestigious international scientific conferences in Cuba and Vietnam in the period of 2025-2026.

Emphasizing that educational cooperation is a solid foundation to strengthen the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, Ambassador Le Quang Long said: The realization of the contents agreed by both sides at the working session will contribute to promoting educational cooperation between the two countries to become more substantive and highly effective.

According to Ambassador Le Quang Long, the working session with Deputy Minister Reynaldo Velasquez Zaldivar marked a new step forward in educational cooperation between the two countries on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (1960-2025).
