Vietnam - Laos strengthen cooperation between the two Women's Unions

According to a VNA reporter in Vientiane, within the framework of a working visit to Laos, on the morning of April 4, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga and the working delegation paid a courtesy visit to Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou.

Photo: Pham Kien/VNA The President of the Vietnam Women's Union sincerely thanked the Vice President of Laos for taking the time to receive the delegation; thanked the leaders of the Lao Party and State, including Vice President Pany Yathotou personally, for always creating conditions and supporting women of the two countries; hoped that in the coming time, she would continue to receive guidance and support so that the two Women's Unions of Vietnam and Laos could well implement the agreement for the period 2023-2027 that the two sides had signed. Reporting to the Vice President of Laos on the results of the talks between the Vietnam and Lao Women's Unions earlier the same day, as well as the results of cooperation between the two unions in recent times, Ms. Ha Thi Nga said that the Women's Unions of the two countries have always been proactive and active in friendly and cooperative activities at both central and local levels, with practical significance, achieving specific results, contributing to promoting solidarity, friendship and the general cooperative relationship between the people and women of the two countries. She also affirmed that in the coming time, the two associations will continue to strengthen cooperation, help each other develop together... The Lao Vice President emphasized that during the war, women of Laos and Vietnam always stood side by side, sharing the joys and sorrows for the peace and independence of the two countries. After 1975 and until today, women of the two countries continue to help and support each other, strengthen relations in all fields, and support each other at regional and international forums. The Lao Vice President suggested that the Women's Unions of the two countries, in addition to implementing the signed agreement, should create conditions for women's unions in border provinces to increase sharing of experiences in economic development, tourism development, etc., so that women have the opportunity to develop their economies and escape poverty. Ms. Pany Yathotou assessed that Vietnamese women have many diverse and successful economic business models, and accordingly, she expressed her hope that the Vietnam Women's Union would continue to strengthen and expand cooperation in helping to train women at the district and provincial levels so that Lao women not only progress in women's work but also know how to do good business, know how to enrich themselves, their families and society.
