The World Travel Awards (WTA) was established in 1993 and is a prestigious award recognized worldwide and is considered the "Oscar of the tourism industry". The award is held annually to honor outstanding destinations, tourism management agencies, and quality tourism service providers, including many categories such as airlines, hotels, resorts, travel companies, and tourist destinations. This year is the 31st time WTA has taken place.

The WTA awards are presented at three levels from highest to lowest: world (usually announced at the end of the year), regional and individual countries. Voting is conducted online, with participants including tourists, experts, and CEOs in the tourism and travel industry. One vote from experts is worth two regular votes.
