On the afternoon of June 27, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received a delegation from the Cuban Workers' Center led by Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento - Politburo member, General Secretary of the Cuban Workers' Center, Vice President of the World Federation of Trade Unions.

Warmly welcoming the delegation to Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is very good, demonstrated through the quite active high-level visits of the two countries' leaders in recent times.

Emphasizing the importance and success of the official visit to Cuba in April 2023, the National Assembly Chairman had the honor to deliver a speech at the Special Plenary Session of the Cuban National Assembly, meet with the top leaders of the Cuban Party and State, hold in-depth talks with National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez and sign the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies. Relevant agencies of the two countries are actively implementing the cooperation agreements signed during the visit.

The National Assembly Chairman expressed his pleasure to know that during this visit, Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento had talks with President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, and at the same time had a rich program of activities in localities to study and share experiences in activities related to trade unions and workers.

Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento congratulated Vietnam on its achievements and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will successfully achieve the goals set by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, and by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the country's founding. He expressed his hope that, based on its experience, Vietnam will continue to share its experience in national development with Cuba.

Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Center Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento emphasized that the official visit to Cuba by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue in April 2023 contributed to deepening the relationship between Cuba and Vietnam.

Appreciating the speech of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue at the Special Plenary Session at the Cuban National Assembly, the comrade said that the speeches of the National Assembly Chairman demonstrated the extremely good relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples, which was founded and built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro, and has been cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries. Along with that, the business forum of the two countries held during the visit contributed to maintaining and deepening economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Center informed about strategies and policies in various areas to implement the resolution of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba and priorities to update the economic and social development model in the coming time; Cuba's efforts in mobilizing all classes of people and workers to increase production.

The top priority in the current period is to perfect the agricultural production process; apply preferential tax policies, salary and bonus policies to increase labor productivity to supply consumer goods and improve people's lives. Along with that, Cuba is applying and perfecting mechanisms to give more autonomy to state-owned enterprises.

He shared that during this working visit to Vietnam, the delegation has a working program with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor so that both sides can share practical experiences from trade union activities, grassroots trade unions, and implementation of trade union policies. The two sides agreed to organize a workshop related to legal regulations on protecting the rights of workers working in private enterprises. Cuba has approved a program of financial reform and social management.

Cuba is preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of southern Vietnam in Quang Tri (September 1973 - September 2023). The Cuban Workers' Center will coordinate with relevant Vietnamese agencies to organize this celebration.

He affirmed that in the process of construction and development, Cuba has always received the support and solidarity of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; at the same time, he said that the leaders of the Cuban Party and State affirmed their steadfast stance in firmly protecting independence and sovereignty; and made efforts to overcome difficulties with resilience and creativity to continue developing the country.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Center for his sharing, expressing his understanding and sympathy for the difficulties and challenges Cuba is facing due to the embargo and the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and recent fires. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam is ready to exchange and share experiences in nation building with Cuba.

The National Assembly Chairman said that Vietnam always encourages businesses to invest in Cuba. Based on the results of existing investment cooperation, Cuba will continue to pay attention, support and remove difficulties for businesses investing and doing business in Cuba.

The National Assembly Chairman reaffirmed the consistent stance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam in supporting the just revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people of Cuba; expressed his firm belief that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will strive to overcome difficulties, successfully carry out the process of updating the economic and social model, opening a new stage of development in the cause of national construction and development.

At the meeting, through comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully sent his regards to National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez and Cuban leaders; respectfully invited the Cuban National Assembly Chairman to soon visit Vietnam again.
