Vietnam earned 177 million USD from exporting goods to Myanmar in the first 7 months of 2024, down 37% year-on-year.
According to data from General Department of Customs, Vietnam earned 177 million USD from export goods to Myanmar in the first 7 months of 2024. Compared to the same period last year, Vietnam's goods exported to this country decreased by 37%.
Vietnam exports 19 main products to Myanmar, mainly raw materials and fuels. Textiles, garments and footwear were the largest export items, bringing in 26 million USD, up 25% in value over the same period last year.
Textiles ranked second with a turnover of 19.6 million USD, down 21.9% compared to the same period last year. Vietnam also exported 36,684 tons of fertilizer to the neighboring country, reaching 18 million USD, up 28.5% in volume and 18% in value compared to the same period.

Plastic products exported to foreign countries Southeast Asia This also brought in 12.7 million USD, down 51% over the same period last year; exports of machinery, equipment, tools, and other spare parts reached 8.6 million USD, down 49.7% over the same period last year; iron and steel reached 6.1 million USD, down 12.8% over the same period last year.
In the agricultural products group, Vietnam exported two items to Myanmar, including coffee with 7.1 million USD, down 35.4% over the same period last year and pepper with 0.05 million USD, down 92.8% over the same period last year.
In general, most of the export items to this market recorded a decrease in value compared to the same period last year with 15/19 items. Of which, means of transport and spare parts had the deepest decrease with 93.7% compared to the same period last year.
