Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang is visiting Azerbaijan. On April 21, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs E. Mammadov chaired a political consultation.
The two sides reviewed and agreed on the content, plan, and program of high-level delegation exchanges, assessed the results of implementing agreements reached by the two countries' leaders in recent times, and exchanged opinions on the current situation and measures to promote bilateral relations.

The traditional good friendship between the two countries has developed for many decades before the establishment of official diplomatic relations in 1992. This included the particularly important visit of President Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan in 1959, which laid the foundation for bilateral relations.
In the early 1980s, General Secretary Le Duan visited Azerbaijan; Azerbaijani leader Geydar Alyev also visited Vietnam at that time in his capacity as First Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union. The two sides maintained many delegation exchanges through all Party, State, and National Assembly channels between ministries, sectors, and localities, thereby contributing to strengthening political trust between the two countries.
Reviewing the achievements in bilateral relations, the two Deputy Ministers agreed to continue to maintain delegation exchanges and regular contacts at all levels, especially high levels, and through many channels and fields.
The two Foreign Ministries will make maximum efforts and coordinate closely to carefully prepare and successfully organize visits and activities of high-ranking leaders.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Azerbaijani Deputy Minister E. Mammadov said that the current turnover is still very modest compared to the potential and strengths of the two countries, not really stable and not meeting the expectations of both sides.
The two countries still have a lot of room to promote economic cooperation, especially in complementary areas such as energy, mining, agriculture, etc.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang suggested that Azerbaijan create more favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to increase connections, contacts and information exchange, expand investment and business opportunities, open the door for goods from one country to penetrate the other's market and penetrate regional markets.
Deputy Minister E. Mammadov shared Azerbaijan's strengths in the fields of energy and transportation, and expressed his willingness to cooperate with Vietnam and expressed his wish that the two sides consider expanding cooperation to areas where both sides have strengths and potential.
Vietnam and Azerbaijan have great potential for cooperation in the fields of defense - security, science - technology, innovation, culture, sports, tourism, etc.
Regarding education and training, Vietnam and Azerbaijan have had a lot of experience in cooperation with more than 5,000 Vietnamese students having been trained in Azerbaijan. Therefore, the two countries need to promote tradition and strengthen cooperation in this field, especially in the exchange of students, lecturers, and training of officials...

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's role and position in the region; expressed admiration for Vietnam's development achievements and affirmed that Azerbaijan is ready to promote cooperation between the two countries towards upgrading relations in the coming time.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan will do its utmost to coordinate the promotion of bilateral relations and carefully prepare for high-level visits.
