Vietnam ranked 7th destination in the world

Data compiled from the Google Destination Insights travel trend tracking tool shows that Vietnam has the 7th highest destination growth rate globally.

Information from the National Tourism Administration shows that with a flexible visa policy, a diverse and classy tourism product system, and an expanding international flight network, Vietnam is becoming a bright spot on the world tourism map, loved and chosen by tourists from all over the world.

Accordingly, the number of international searches for Vietnam tourism from the beginning of the year until now has achieved a growth rate of about 10% - 25%, ranking 7th in the world.

Vietnam is also the only destination in Southeast Asia in the top 10, far surpassing other competitors in the region such as the Philippines ranked 18th, Singapore ranked 25th, Thailand ranked 36th, Indonesia ranked 37th, and Malaysia ranked 39th.

The top 10 Vietnamese cities most searched by international tourists include: Ho Chi Minh City; Hanoi ; Da Nang; Phu Quoc (Kien Giang); Nha Trang; Hoi An (Quang Nam); Vung Tau (Ba Ria-Vung Tau); Da Lat (Lam Dong); Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan); Hue.

Meanwhile, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh were the two destinations that recorded the highest growth, up over 75%.

The markets that are searching the most for Vietnam tourism are the US, India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Korea, UK, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong.

Some factors that make Vietnam a favorite destination for international tourists include the diversity and attractiveness of its products, from cultural, natural, island, and city tourism to new products such as agricultural, railway, health care, and sports tourism, all of which have great appeal to international tourists.

Vietnam's tourism infrastructure is increasingly invested in and developed synchronously and modernly, connecting air, road, and sea transport, expanding direct flights connecting major cities in the world with Vietnam... creating favorable conditions for international tourists to access Vietnam.

“In particular, the increasingly open visa and immigration policies are a bright spot in the eyes of international friends. In addition, Vietnam is a country with a stable security and order situation, which is one of the most important factors for international tourists today,” the National Tourism Administration stated.

Along with that, in recent times, the tourism industry has actively implemented a series of tourism promotion campaigns in many key markets, promoting the image and brand of Vietnamese tourism to international tourists. Currently, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is organizing a program to launch a market to introduce Vietnamese tourism in France, Italy, and Switzerland from May 3-14, 2025.

Also according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first 4 months of 2025, the tourism industry welcomed over 7.6 million international visitors, an increase of 23.8% over the same period last year.

“Along with the good news that Vietnam Tourism ranked 7th in the world in terms of destination search growth, it has brought positive signals to the tourism industry in the first months of 2025 - an important year for the entire industry to strive to complete the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors, contributing to the Government's 8% GDP growth target this year,” the Department of Tourism informed.
