Vietnam Airlines postpones shareholders' meeting until October

Vietnam Airlines has just said that it is still completing documents to report to shareholders and plans to hold its annual meeting in October.

This information was sent by Vietnam Airlines Corporation to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) on August 22. Previously, on August 11, HoSE continued to urge this enterprise to disclose information on audited financial statements, 2022 annual report, and 2023 semi-annual review report.

Vietnam Airlines said it is working with independent auditing firms to urgently complete the 2022 audited financial report. The company plans to announce this report and the 2023 semi-annual review report by the end of August, or September at the latest.

At the same time, the news agency will continue to complete the documents reporting the shareholders' meeting and plans to hold the annual meeting in October. Initially, Vietnam Airlines planned to hold this meeting at the end of June but postponed it until now.

According to the Enterprise Law, the annual general meeting of shareholders must take place within 4 months from the end of the fiscal year. However, unless otherwise provided in the company charter, the Board of Directors may decide to extend this meeting if necessary, but not more than 6 months from the end of the fiscal year.

Some indicators in the 2022 audited financial report are the basis for HoSE to consider maintaining the listing of Vietnam Airlines' HVN shares. In February, HoSE warned that HVN shares could be delisted if the parent company's after-tax profit or Vietnam Airlines' equity was negative. According to the self-made report, by the end of last year, the accumulated profit of Vietnam Airlines' parent company's shareholders was negative by approximately VND32,000 billion. The company's equity was negative by more than VND10,000 billion.
