After the explosive session following the momentum of last weekend, VN-Index in the first trading session of the week surpassed the 1,100-point threshold due to the excitement of investors. However, due to high profit-taking pressure, VN-Index fell below this mark at the end of the session.

The Vietnamese stock market in the trading session of June 5 was quite positive. Although liquidity decreased slightly compared to the explosive session at the end of last week, it remained at a good level with the total transaction value on the two official exchanges still remaining above VND19,000 billion, if including the UpCom floor, liquidity exceeded VND20,000 billion.
Banking stocks continued to be the focus, pulling the market up sharply. VN-Index increased by more than 10 points at one point and re-established the 1,100-point mark, but then slightly decreased again. In particular, many banking stocks surpassed the March peak such as VCB up 3.27%, SHB up 2.5%, KB up 5.8%, LPB up 2%...
However, some banking stocks also turned down such as TCB, STB, ACB , EIB, TPB... Steel stocks also accelerated with POM hitting the ceiling, HSG up 2.3%, NKG up 2.5%, HPG up nearly 1%... In addition, energy stocks also maintained good growth momentum with TMP hitting the ceiling, GAS up 2.17%, PLX up 2.22%, POW up 2.2%, PGV up 2.23%, NT2 up 2.13%, PPC up 4.79%...
Meanwhile, the securities and real estate stocks traded poorly. Specifically, securities stocks with VND decreased by 1.37%, VCI decreased by 1.86%, HCM decreased by 2.01%, FTS decreased by 3.52%, BSI decreased by 2.96%, ORS decreased by 2.41%, CTS decreased by 3.61%... Many real estate stocks also decreased sharply such as NVL decreased by 2.53%, KBC decreased by 2.62%, DIG decreased by 2.75%, NLG decreased by 1.85%, DXG decreased by 3.3%, CII decreased by 2.2%, CRE decreased by 3.33%, DXS decreased by 2.39%... contributing to narrowing the increase of VN-Index.
At the end of the trading session, VN-Index only increased by 6.98 points (0.64%) with 201 stocks increasing in price, 39 stocks remaining unchanged and 199 stocks decreasing in price. At the end of the session on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, HNX-Index also increased by 0.53 points (0.24%) with 97 stocks increasing in price, 100 stocks decreasing in price and 136 stocks remaining unchanged. Liquidity was still improved with the total transaction value on the 3 exchanges reaching over 20,000 billion VND.
