VN-Index regains the 1,250 point mark, liquidity decreases sharply.

NDO - On January 8th, increased selling pressure across the board, coupled with sluggish capital flows, caused the market to be in the red during the morning session. In the afternoon, buying pressure intensified, with large-cap stocks such as SSB, MWG, GVR, PLX, CTG, GAS, HPG,SHB , SSI, VCB, VIB, and VPB turning green, helping the main indices reverse their downward trend and rise. At the close of trading, the VN-Index increased by 4.07 points to 1,251.02 points.


On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session decreased sharply compared to the previous session, reaching over 8,500.28 billion VND.

Foreign investors made net purchases of 439 billion VND on the HoSE exchange. On the buying side, TCB shares were the most heavily bought, with a value exceeding 103 billion VND, followed by HDB (49 billion VND), MSN (42 billion VND), etc. Conversely,FPT was the most heavily sold (230 billion VND), followed by STB (70 billion VND), VTP (56 billion VND), etc.

Today, blue-chip stocks traded in the red for almost the entire session. The VN30 group closed with 17 gainers, 7 unchanged, and 6 losers.

Specifically, SSB increased by 1.79%, MWG and POW both increased by 1.75%, MSN increased by 1.35%, TCB increased by 1.27%, GVR increased by 1.24%, BVH increased by 1.23%, and PLX increased by 1.06%.

The following stocks saw slight increases: CTG, GAS, HPG, SHB, SSI, TPB, VCB,VIB , VPB.

Seven stocks stopped at the reference price: ACB, BCM, SAB, VHM, VIC, VNM, VRE.

Conversely, HDB fell 3.92% to 23,300 VND/share, while FPT decreased 1.2%.

The remaining stocks: BID, MBB, STB, VJC saw slight declines.

In terms of sectors, steel stocks traded quite positively, with only VCA experiencing a slight decrease and DTL remaining unchanged, while the rest all increased. Besides HPG mentioned above, HMC rose 6.03% to 12,300 VND/share, SMC increased 2.96%, NKG increased 1.85%, HSG increased 1.4%, and TLH increased 1.39%.

The securities sector stocks closed the session up 0.68%. Among them, APG performed best, hitting the ceiling price of 6,250 VND/share, followed by ORS up 3.73%, DSE up 3.09%, AGR up 1.53%, VIX up 1.47%, FTS up 1.24%, VCI up 1.1%, HCM up 1.07%, CTS up 1.06%, VDS up 1.05%, VND up 0.42%, and SSI with a slight increase. Conversely, BSI, TCI, TVB, and TVS saw slight declines.

The banking sector stocks declined in the morning session but recovered towards the end, rising 0.25%. Besides the VN30 group stocks ACB, BID, CTG, HDB, MBB, SHB, SSB, STB, TCB, TPB, VCB, VPB, and VIB mentioned above, other stocks such as EIB (up 0.82%), LPB (up 0.65%), MSB (up 0.90%), OCB (up 0.94%), and NAB (up 0.89%) also performed well.

Real estate stocks also rose 0.36% at the close of trading. Among them, stocks with strong gains included: HTN up 5.27%, VRC up 4.55%, SJS up 4.22%, DXG up 3.45%, TDC up 2.64%, PDR up 2.39%, SCR up 2.12%,...

In addition, sectors such as transportation, healthcare, raw materials, food and beverages, utilities, insurance, consumer goods, distribution and retail, production materials, and energy also closed in the green.

Conversely, two groups of stocks, telecommunications and software, closed in the red.

* The Vietnamese stock market experienced significant fluctuations today, with the VNXALL-Index closing up 6.94 points (+0.34%) at 2,072.60 points. Total market liquidity reached 424.85 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND 10,257.02 billion. Across the market, 246 stocks increased in price, 74 remained unchanged, and 131 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 221.87 points, up 0.89 points (+0.40%). Total trading volume reached over 37.07 million units, with a corresponding transaction value of over 589.19 billion VND. Across the entire exchange, there were 90 gainers, 52 unchanged stocks, and 65 losers.

The HNX30 index closed up 3.51 points (+0.77%) at 460.66 points. Trading volume reached over 19.63 million units, with a corresponding value of over 399.06 billion VND. Among the HNX30 stocks, 15 ended the trading day higher, 11 remained unchanged, and 4 declined.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM Index rose, closing at 93.54 points, up 0.53 points (+0.57%). Total market liquidity reached over 50.67 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 448.20 billion VND. Among UPCoM stocks, 138 ended the trading day higher, 90 remained unchanged, and 111 declined.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed up 4.07 points (+0.33%) at 1,251.02 points. Trading volume reached over 439.99 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 10,109.10 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 236 gainers, 74 unchanged stocks, and 153 losers.

The VN30 index rose 1.35 points (+0.10%) to 1,316.63 points. Trading volume reached over 131.69 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 4,214.92 billion. At the end of the trading day, 17 VN30 stocks increased, 7 remained unchanged, and 6 decreased.

The five stocks with the highest trading volume were HDB (over 18.48 million units), HPG (over 12.95 million units), DXG (over 12.46 million units), TCB (over 11.94 million units), and NAB (over 10.49 million units).

The five stocks with the highest price increases were GMH (7.00%), CIG (6.94%), APG (6.84%), L10 (6.83%), and DMC (6.81%).

The five stocks with the biggest price drops were GMC (-6.97%), HU1 (-6.91%), HRC (-6.83%), SC5 (-6.36%), and SMB (-5.95%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 187,037 contracts traded, with a value of VND 24,641.68 billion.
