Winning The Open, Scottie Scheffler reaches $90 million in prize money on the PGA Tour

A convincing victory at The Open 2025 not only brought Scottie Scheffler his first Claret Jug Cup, but also his fourth major title of his career.

With a bonus of 3.1 million USD (about 81 billion VND) at Royal Portrush, the world's number 1 golfer officially surpassed the 90 million USD mark in prize money on the PGA Tour.

In history, only three golfers have earned more money than Scheffler: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson.

Notably, in 2025 alone, Scheffler pocketed more than $19 million, enough to keep him in 131st place on the all-time prize money list. This achievement helped him surpass a series of notable names such as Cameron Young, David Duval, Maverick McNealy, and many others.

Tiger Woods is still at the top of the prize money rankings with a total of 120.9 million USD, tied with 82 PGA Tour wins (a record with Sam Snead) and 15 majors. Following him is Rory McIlroy with 107.1 million USD, and Phil Mickelson with 96.7 million USD.

With a current total prize money of about $90.9 million, Scheffler will likely surpass Mickelson if he continues to maintain his form in the upcoming FedEx Cup Playoffs.

At this point, the question is not whether Scheffler will surpass Tiger Woods in prize money, but when. The prize money race is even more interesting because McIlroy, who has a lead of about $16 million, is still in the peak of his career.
