Defeating Viettel FC 3-2 on the evening of May 28 in round 9 of V-League 2023, Dong A Thanh Hoa extended their unbeaten streak since the beginning of the season and maintained their top position with 21 points.

Dong A Thanh Hoa hosted Viettel FC at home in round 9 of V-League 2023 as the only undefeated team. Before the match, Dong A Thanh Hoa received 3 individual and collective awards in April of V-League 2023 including: "Best Club of the Month", "Best Coach of the Month" and "Best Player of the Month".

Dong A Thanh Hoa players entered the game confidently and created many storms towards Viettel FC's goal. However, Thanh Hoa fans had to wait until the 30th minute to enjoy the joy. From a favorable pass from Lam Ti Phong on the right wing, player Huu Dung flew in to cushion the ball, the ball hit the ground and went into Viettel FC's net.

Although Viettel FC did not create many opportunities, they knew how to make the most of them. Just 4 minutes after conceding, the away team equalized 1-1. From a favorable cross from Hoang Duc on the right wing, Jaha jumped high to head the ball, hitting the post and going into the Dong A Thanh Hoa net.
