On the afternoon of December 5, a working delegation led by Mr. Tran Van Hien, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, visited, expressed condolences and encouraged the relatives of the three victims in the massacre in Lang Cung hamlet, Thanh Phu commune, Cai Nuoc district.

Mr. Tran Van Hien presented 15 million VND in support and expressed his deep sympathy for the loss and pain of the families, hoping that the victims' relatives would soon stabilize their psychology, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives.
Here, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province requested local authorities at all levels to accompany and support the victims' families to quickly overcome their grief, organize funerals and support to promptly resolve immediate difficulties.
Previously, at around 1:30 p.m. on December 4, a relative of Mr. Phan Van Su (born in 1954, residing in Lang Cung hamlet, Thanh Phu commune) came to visit but the house was locked and discovered a foul smell in the house. Having a premonition that something was wrong, this person reported it to the neighbors and local authorities.
Immediately afterwards, local authorities and neighbors worked together to break into the house to check and discovered Mr. Su lying dead in the bedroom; Ms. Phan Lieng Khuong (born in 1985, Mr. Su's daughter, 8 months pregnant) lying dead in her bedroom, and Ms. Tran Thi Gon (born in 1955, Mr. Su's wife) lying dead in a shrimp pond about 50m from the house.
Through screening, the police suspect Bui Vu Khoa (born in 2000, residing in Tan Phong commune, Gia Rai town, Bac Lieu province), who lived as husband and wife with Ms. Phan Lieng Khuong, caused the tragedy.
At 5:15 p.m. the same day, the Criminal Police Department of Ca Mau Provincial Police arrested suspect Bui Vu Khoa at Cay Tram Hamlet (Dinh Binh Commune, Ca Mau City).
In his initial confession to the Ca Mau Provincial Police Department, Khoa said that due to personal conflicts while living with his "common-law wife", he killed three people.
The autopsy results showed that Ms. Phan Lieng Khuong was 8 months pregnant and had only one fetus, not twins as previously reported by the press.
