On October 29, Japanese media reported that actress Ryoko Yonekura (50 years old) is in a career crisis after the Kanto-Shin'etsu Regional Narcotics Control Bureau searched her home.

According to Bunshun Online , the authorities seized several items suspected of being related to marijuana. When her house was searched, Ryoko was present and cooperated with the police, confirming each piece of evidence when taking photos to create a profile. The source said she was summoned to give testimony many times, but was not arrested.

Ryoko had suffered from chronic back pain for a long time and some people believe that she may have been taking painkillers containing cannabis extract.

Police are also investigating Ryoko’s Argentinian boyfriend – a dancer who lives with her but is currently abroad. Meanwhile, the actress has suspended all activities, with her Instagram account, advertising contracts and film appearances canceled since September.

“Ryoko is in a very difficult situation right now. Once her house is searched, no brand or TV station will dare to take the risk. Her career is almost frozen,” said an advertising representative.

The media believes that the only way for Ryoko to save her image is to appear publicly and speak out with her own words.

The incident also severely affected TV Asahi, the production unit of Doctor-X: Final Movie . According to sources, the new season of the Doctor-X series has been suspended indefinitely and all re-broadcasts or online screenings of previous seasons have been halted. Doctor-X used to have a viewership rating of 4-7%, considered the "golden goose" of the station.

Ryoko Yonekura was born in 1975 and started out as a fashion model before turning to acting. She is best known for her role as Dr. Michiko Daimon in the Doctor-X series and has provided the Japanese voice for several characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe .
