According to The Guardian, the leader of the country style men's fashion trend is none other than David Beckham.
In the latest issue of Country Life magazine, David Beckham appears in many different styles: from tweed blazers to corduroy trousers, exuding the classic British gentleman's look.
Even though it was shot on his vast Cotswolds estate, David Beckham's style is sophisticated enough to appear on a high-end catwalk or in the middle of a luxury shopping street.

Country fashion is on the rise
Today, the British country style is popular with many men who want to show off their "old money" elegance - a minimalist, sophisticated and classic style of dressing, inspired by the old wealthy upper class, focusing on high quality, elegance and unpretentiousness.
According to cultural commentator Jason Diamond, the trend reflects men's growing interest in personal style.
While the business suit has yet to regain its appeal due to the flexible working trend, Jason Diamond says many buyers are looking for something "a little more grown up".

On recent men's runways, there has been a clear shift from loose silhouettes and sneakers to waxed jackets, fitted tweeds, and sleek leather shoes. Some even worry that the beret is about to become "the new baseball cap."
According to Esquire 's fashion director, Johnny Davis, there's also an element of "performance" to the trend. He commented: "It's remarkable that David Beckham admitted that director Guy Ritchie - who pioneered the peasant cosplay style - made him love rural life more."

Guy Ritchie's Netflix film The Gentlemen (2024) is considered one of the works that started this trend.
And perhaps it’s that dreamy element that makes the style so appealing, with brands like M&S now offering items once only found in high-end country stores, like twill chinos and waxed jackets.
At John Lewis, known as the "mecca" of country fashion, searches for tweed jackets increased 300% in just one week, while plaid jackets increased 100%.
The 'rich autumn dad' trend is booming
Not only stopping at the image of David Beckham in Country Life , the "Rich Autumn Dad" trend is spreading strongly across the catwalk and social networks.
Many major brands have been quick to jump on the trend. One UK retailer has launched a dedicated “Heritage” category on its website, with its rope knit sweaters and fisherman sweaters becoming bestsellers.
Zara's winter collection features striped rugby shirts and wool vests; while at Reiss, brushed-fabric overshirts and check blazers are topping the sales charts.

Fashion commentator Jason Diamond comments: "Men today want something classic but not stiff. The country gentleman style is the perfect combination of elegance and a bit of roughness, just enough to look masculine but still wearable to dinner or a party.
The pictures of David Beckham illustrate this perfectly: he's dressed in a tailored shirt, wearing rubber boots and gardening. He looks busy, but it's 'luxurious busy'."

So what makes this style so appealing? Fashion commentator Jason Diamond says it's "a rebellion against the over-connectivity of modern life."
Esquire fashion director Johnny Davis saw in it “the romance of the analog age.” “When everything else is digital and uncertain,” he said, “the image of a field, a dog, and an old tweed jacket brings a rare sense of peace.”
