With high competition, high competition rate, especially in large urban areas, key schools, high quality, the 10th grade entrance exam is always an important and stressful exam for 9th grade students. The concern and anxiety is not only in the candidates, but also in the families of 9th grade students, parents are equally stressed because of the difficulty and hardship of "passing the test" to enter high school. In order to contribute to improving the quality of high school education and at the same time develop vocationaleducation to meet the needs of the labor market in the province, in recent years, the enrollment target for grade 10 of public high schools in Quang Ninh only accounts for about 60% of junior high school graduates. Thus, nearly 40% of students who fail the public system will study at non-public schools, vocational schools, and continuing education centers.

As for the 2024-2025 school year 10th grade entrance exam, the whole province has about 16,000 candidates participating, with 10,534 enrollment targets for 241 public high school grade 10s; 6,953 enrollment targets for 161 private, vocational, and vocational high school grade 10s.

Secondary education institutions are actively reviewing grade 9 students to prepare for the 2025-2026 high school entrance exam.

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year will officially take place from June 1-3. Quang Ninh has over 15,700 candidates registered for the exam. The number of candidates registered for the specialized classes of Ha Long Specialized High School is 1,009 candidates. The whole province organizes 32 examination councils, with about 670 examination rooms. The Department of Education and Training mobilizes 2,500 cadres, teachers, employees and coordinating forces to participate in the examination councils, ensuring the correct and sufficient structure, composition and quantity according to regulations.

The 2025-2026 high school entrance exam is the first year organized according to the 2018 General Education Program with many innovations in methods, exam structure, exam questions, how to calculate admission and graduation scores, and exam organization procedures, especially in the context that localities are focusing on streamlining the organizational apparatus and rearranging administrative units. Therefore, in order for the exam to take place safely, objectively, fairly, and seriously, the education sector has made careful, thoughtful, and complete preparations from a distance and early on in terms of facilities and equipment; organized training on professional regulations, procedures, and exam procedures for officials and teachers, etc.

For secondary schools in the province, detailed review plans are developed and experienced teachers are assigned to teach and review for grade 9 students. In particular, in addition to proactively organizing many capacity assessments for students, schools also organize mock exams like official exams to assess student quality, thereby promptly adjusting appropriate review methods.

Emphasizing the importance of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh, Head of the Exam Steering Committee, requested the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing the organization of the exam, ensuring absolute safety, seriousness, thoughtfulness, objectivity, honesty, and compliance with regulations; absolutely not allowing errors, negativity, or violations of exam regulations; creating maximum favorable conditions for candidates to take the exam in the spirit of not allowing any candidate to drop out of the exam due to economic difficulties, travel or objective obstacles.

The 10th grade entrance exam is an important milestone in the learning journey of every student. With careful, thorough, and scientific preparation in all aspects, along with the focus on organizing review sessions by schools and 9th grade students, it will create a solid, proactive mindset, so that candidates can confidently "pass" the 10th grade exam successfully.
