Latifah Al-Hazza, an American tourist, has traveled to 80 countries and she has come up with a list of her favorite 50 destinations. Her views, published in the American newspaper BusinessInsider, have received many comments in agreement.
In it, she ranked Vietnam above many other famous tourist destinations in Asia. The reason this American tourist listed 50 destinations is because these are countries ranked highly in the World Economic Forum's 2024 Travel and Tourism Index.
“Having been to many countries around the world and although I have not had a bad experience in any of them, the great memories of each destination are different. Specifically, it is the interactions I had with the locals, the general uniqueness, the cuisine, the activities available and the sights,” Latifah Al-Hazza emphasized on how she came up with her list of favorite destinations.
Her list includes a host of dream destinations for any traveler, such as Egypt, Türkiye, Peru, South Africa, Morocco, Greece and many other European or American countries.

The list also includes many Asian countries, specifically China at number 42. She said she always likes to face challenges but really struggles with the language and cuisine in the billion-people country. She wrote: "Apart from Shanghai, hardly anyone I meet speaks English, which is not surprising. However, because I am not fluent in the language, I find it difficult to move from place to place. However, my favorite activities are taking a food tour, visiting the Great Wall and seeing the enchanting Terracotta Army in Xi'an."
She also spent three nights in Singapore and felt that was enough time to see everything she wanted and ranked the country number 36.
Malaysia is a country with a lot to offer, with beaches, jungles and cities. Some of her favourite places to visit in the country include the Kuala Lumpur night market, the colonial city of Penang, the UNESCO sites of Malacca, Langkawi Island and Batu Caves in Selangor. However, the special impressions were not enough for her, so Malaysia came in at number 32.
She also spent several days in India , with Mumbai and Delhi being the country's must-see destinations, but don't underestimate the beauty of Jaipur, rich with colour, bazaars and ornate buildings. However, India has its fair share of inconveniences for visitors, and she ranked the destination 26th.
She experienced exploring the nature of Thailand.

"I love Thailand . The only reason the land of smiles isn't higher on the list is because I'm not a huge fan of Bangkok," she shared, ranking the destination at number 14, and saying that fortunately, the country has places for nature lovers, adventure enthusiasts...
Above Thailand is Indonesia , at number 8, because it was one of the places that gave her the most memorable trip of her life. "I went to Bali, Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands, and all the locals I met were incredibly kind and helpful. The food was delicious, I felt safe and there were tons of activities. Bali in particular had a great balance of culture, nature and modern conveniences," she wrote.

Vietnam is the only Asian country to top the list, coming in at number 5. "Vietnam is one of my particular favourite Southeast Asian countries as there seems to be an endless amount of places to see and things to do. My favourite itinerary starts in Ho Chi Minh City before heading to Hoi An to visit the famous night market and experience a fun basket boat ride.
Next, I recommend you find your way to Hanoi, explore the city before spending the night on Ha Long Bay. I also really want to return to Vietnam to see the terraced fields in Sa Pa," she shared.
