Cao Bo Commune promotes tourism development

BHG - Cao Bo is a mountainous commune of Vi Xuyen district, with many strengths for tourism development. In recent years, local authorities have been implementing many solutions to attract tourists and create income for local people.

Currently, there are 10 families in the commune participating in homestay activities, creating conditions for tourists to experience local life and explore the wild beauty of the mountains. In order to support families to invest and improve the quality of services, the state has supported each household with 60 million VND to buy supplies for tourists. In addition, households also grow buckwheat flowers in terraced fields to attract tourists. Mr. Dang Van Long, Lung Tao village shared: Seeing the potential and advantages of my locality, I discussed with my family to boldly invest in renovating the house into a homestay, at the same time buying blankets, curtains, mattresses, and decorating the area around the house. Along with that, promoting the image and homestay through social networking platforms so that tourists know and contact, thereby bringing economic resources to the family.

Cao Bo commune is located in an area with many beautiful natural landscapes that attract tourists, most notably Tay Con Linh peak, over 2,400m high, with Do Quyen flower forest, where the flowers bloom most brilliantly in April every year, attracting a large number of tourists to admire. In addition, the ancient tea forest with an age of 100 - 300 years is also an interesting destination for those who love to explore trees and nature. The scenery of terraced fields and waterfalls also contributes to the attractiveness of Cao Bo commune. Ms. Julie Dorsaz, a Swiss tourist, excitedly said: I went to visit and take pictures with the buckwheat flower fields, they are very beautiful. I am very excited because the scenery here is wonderful, the local people are very friendly and hospitable. After returning, I will share the pictures on social networks and invite friends and family to come back to Cao Bo commune.

In addition to the natural beauty, visitors can also immerse themselves in the cultural identity of the Dao ethnic group, the majority ethnic group in Cao Bo commune. There is an opportunity to interact and learn about the customs, habits, costumes, cuisine and folk arts of the Dao people through cultural exchange activities and experiencing local life.

Comrade Dang Van Chung, Chairman of Cao Bo Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has determined to develop tourism as a spearhead, put it into the resolution, deployed to the villages and people to join hands in implementation, support funding for households to build homestays, take advantage of all investment capital to build inter-village concrete roads to ensure convenient travel, build folk singing clubs, and mobilize people to self-renovate their family landscapes. Promote commune tourism through festivals and media. Thereby, the number of tourists to the locality has increased in recent years. In 2023, Cao Bo commune attracted about 6,000 tourists to explore and experience. This is an opportunity to bring many prospects, create livelihoods as well as change the economic mindset of the people here.
