BHG - Cao Bo is a mountainous commune in Vi Xuyen district, possessing many strengths for tourism development. In recent years, the local Party committee and government have been implementing various solutions to attract tourists and generate income for the people.

Currently, there are 10 families in the commune participating in homestay activities, providing opportunities for tourists to experience local life and explore the pristine beauty of the mountainous region. To support these families in investing and improving service quality, the government has provided each household with 60 million VND to purchase supplies for tourists. In addition, the households also cultivate buckwheat flowers in their terraced fields to attract tourists. Mr. Dang Van Long, from Lung Tao village, shared: "Seeing the potential and advantages of our locality, I discussed with my family and boldly invested in renovating our house into a homestay, buying blankets, curtains, mattresses, and decorating the surrounding area. Along with that, we promote the image and homestay through social media platforms so that tourists know about and contact us, thereby bringing economic benefits to the family."

Cao Bo commune is located in an area with many attractive natural landscapes, most notably Tay Con Linh peak, over 2,400m high, with its rhododendron forest, where the flowers bloom most brilliantly in April every year, attracting a large number of tourists to admire them. Besides that, the ancient tea forest with trees aged 100-300 years is also an interesting destination for those who love exploring trees and nature. The scenery of terraced rice fields and waterfalls also contributes to the attractiveness of Cao Bo commune. Julie Dorsaz, a Swiss tourist, excitedly said: "I visited and took pictures with the buckwheat flower fields, they are very beautiful. I really enjoyed the scenery here, it's amazing, and the local people are very friendly and hospitable. After I return, I will share the pictures on social media and invite my friends and family to come back to Cao Bo commune when they have the chance."

Besides the beautiful natural scenery, visitors can also immerse themselves in the cultural identity of the Dao ethnic group, the majority ethnic group in Cao Bo commune. They have the opportunity to interact with and learn about the customs, traditions, clothing, cuisine, and folk art of the Dao people through cultural exchange activities and experiences of local life.

Comrade Dang Van Chung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Bo Commune, said: The commune has identified tourism development as a key priority, incorporating it into resolutions and implementing it in all villages, with the people working together to support homestay businesses, utilizing all available investment capital to build inter-village concrete roads to ensure convenient transportation, establishing folk singing clubs, and encouraging people to beautify their family landscapes. Tourism in the commune is promoted through festivals and media. As a result, the number of tourists visiting the locality has increased significantly in recent years. In 2023, Cao Bo Commune attracted approximately 6,000 tourists to explore and experience the area. This presents many promising opportunities, creating livelihoods and changing the economic mindset of the local people.
