Khanh Vinh Commune proactively responds to storm No. 15

On the afternoon of November 26, the leader of Khanh Vinh Commune People's Committee said that in order to proactively respond to storm No. 15, the locality has synchronously deployed many measures to prevent and combat natural disasters.

The Commune People's Committee has directed agencies, units and villages to proactively develop response plans. The commune has purchased sacks and flashlights and distributed them to villages to support poor and near-poor households in shoring up their houses; at the same time, it has stockpiled food and provisions to promptly distribute to people when necessary. The Commune Cultural - Information and Sports Center has increased information on weather developments so that people can proactively take precautions. The Commune Military Command has organized a review of vulnerable areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and flooding and arranged permanent forces and vehicles to be ready to support evacuation, rescue, and relief when required.

It is known that the whole Khanh Vinh commune has 2,801 households with 11,204 people, 2,800 houses (of which, about 700 are model houses for settlement). Before storm No. 15 is likely to make landfall, the locality will relocate households in model houses for settlement to schools, village community houses or households with solid houses.
