From the career capital of the National Target Program on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, based on registered needs, 53 households of two villages Ban Sai and Nam Sang were supported with 50 to 100 kg of red potato seeds.

After receiving and incubating the seeds, people are actively planting seeds to catch up with the season. The red potato variety has outstanding characteristics such as good disease resistance, high and stable yield, can reach 20 - 25 tons/ha, if well cared for.
Mrs. Dao Thi Hep - Ban Sai village, Muong Bo commune excitedly said: "Previously, the fields only grew rice once, the winter crop was left fallow, now the State supports potato seeds for planting, farmers are very excited. We also expect a bumper potato crop, bringing in more income."

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Muong Bo commune, information: The whole commune currently has 1,800 hectares of agricultural land, this area is very modest for a purely agricultural commune with up to 1,700 households and 9,000 people like Muong Bo. To increase income for the people, we are reviewing crops suitable for the season. In addition to propagating to the people, supporting potato seeds, planting winter crops, in the coming time, the commune will pilot planting perennial chestnut trees to increase the value of 1 hectare of agricultural land, creating long-term jobs, and increasing income for the people".

The introduction of potato cultivation on the one-rice crop land area in Muong Bo commune not only improves land use efficiency but also contributes to increasing the value of agricultural production, thereby promoting local socio-economic development.
