Quang Huy and Thu Vinh started well, winning consecutive series to lead 9-1 and then 13-5. However, they also had moments of slowing down. When Rhythm and Sigh had perfect series of shots of 10.2 and 10.7 to narrow the gap to 9-15, expert Park Chung-gun immediately asked for a time-out to interrupt the excitement of their opponents and help his students calm down.

After a short break, Quang Huy and Thu Vinh regained their accuracy, shooting 9.7 and 10.5, while their opponents' scores were 9.7 and 10.3. This series of results was enough for the two Vietnamese shooters to finish the match and win the Asian gold medal.

Vietnam has two teams competing with 22 teams from other countries in the 10m mixed pistol event at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship. In the qualifying round, the duo Lai Cong Minh and Nguyen Thuy Trang competed unsuccessfully, scoring 563 points, ranking 19th. Meanwhile, Quang Huy and Thu Vinh ranked second with 580 points, winning the right to enter the final and defeating their opponent from India to win the gold medal. However, this achievement does not count towards the Olympic qualification. The 2024 Asian Shooting Championship is counted as the qualifying round for the Paris Olympics, but only applies to individual events.

The 2024 Asian Shooting Championship will take place in Indonesia from January 4 to January 18. Vietnam will participate under the guidance of head coach Park Chung Gun, with 11 shooters: Trinh Thu Vinh, Nguyen Thuy Trang (women's pistol), Pham Quang Huy, Lai Cong Minh, Phan Cong Minh, Ha Minh Thanh, Vu Tien Nam, Phan Xuan Chuyen (men's pistol), Le Thi Mong Tuyen, Phi Thanh Thao, Nguyen Thi Thao (women's rifle).

In addition to medals, Vietnam aims to win at least one more Olympic ticket through this tournament. Previously, Vietnamese shooting had just won a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics thanks to female shooter Trinh Thu Vinh.

Quang Huy, born in 1996, is considered a new star of Vietnamese shooting. He is the son of the famous Vietnamese shooting couple Pham Cao Son - Dang Thi Hang. At the 2023 Asian Games, he won the first gold medal in shooting for Vietnam, in the men's 10m air pistol event, along with a bronze medal in the men's 10m air pistol team event.
