Other teams that have qualified for the round of 16, as of last night, are Slovenia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Poland, Canada, Türkiye and the Netherlands.
The first four matches of the round of 16 have also been determined. Accordingly, Turkey will face the Netherlands, Poland will face Canada, the US men's volleyball team will face Slovenia. Bulgaria will face Portugal.
The remaining 8 tickets and 4 matches of the round of 16 will be determined this afternoon and evening (September 18). Notable teams that can win the next tickets to pass the group stage include France (ranked 2nd in the world), Italy (ranked 5th), Brazil (ranked 7th).
The host team Philippines' ticket to the next round will also be decided tonight. The Philippines is the sole representative of Southeast Asian men's volleyball at this year's world championship.
