Identify the person who assaulted a medical worker in Nghe An

The person who assaulted the female nurse was identified as Tran Tuan Anh (32 years old, residing in Hamlet 13, Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City). Tuan Anh is the son of the patient who was brought to the emergency room. Nghi Phu Ward police are currently continuing to investigate and clarify the case.

On the afternoon of June 2, Nghe An General Hospital reported an incident in which a patient's family member assaulted a nurse. According to the hospital, at around 11:52 p.m. on May 31, the Emergency Department here received patient Tran Van L. (53 years old, residing in Nghi Kim Commune, Vinh City) for emergency care. After the patient entered the department, the doctor on duty examined the patient, explained the patient's condition, prescribed medication, performed paraclinical tests, and instructed the patient's family to go to the counter to complete procedures for the patient.

“At the check-in counter, nurse Nguyen Thi A. received the documents, then guided the family members to the waiting area outside, to wait according to hospital regulations. However,
The family did not comply, showed an uncooperative attitude and used insulting, abusive, and threatening words towards the medical staff.
Nurse A. continued to explain and asked the family to wait outside for the medical staff to perform their duties. When assistance was needed, the medical staff would notify them. However, the family did not comply, continued to curse, insult, threaten, and reached over the check-in counter and slapped Nurse A. in the face, knocking off her glasses. Her left cheek was swollen, painful, dizzy, nauseous, had blurred vision, and was mentally and emotionally unstable, requiring hospitalization for treatment," the hospital report said.

Nghe An General Hospital said that this incident had affected the health and psychology of the medical staff on duty in the emergency room as well as seriously affected the medical examination and treatment environment at the hospital. The incident was stopped after the intervention of the security force. The on-duty team then contacted the night security guard for help, reported the incident to the hospital's leadership and the police for support.

Regarding patient Tran Van L., the hospital said that the on-duty team examined him, performed paraclinical tests, and monitored and treated him promptly according to the protocol. Just over 2 hours after being admitted to the hospital, the patient's abdominal pain subsided, his vital signs were within normal limits, and his family requested to complete the discharge procedures.

Immediately after the incident, the hospital leadership made a record of the incident, asked the individuals and the on-duty team to write a report of the incident, and at the same time asked the Information Technology Department to extract and store images via security cameras for reporting and investigation when requested.
